Wedding Photography From a Byron Bay Wedding That Didn’t Actually Go Into Byron Bay

I recently photographed Marie and Shaun’s fabulous wedding at Byron Bay. The thing is we had a fabulous view over the Bay, fantastic Byron Bay weather for the wedding and a relaxed Byron Bay vibe – but we never actually ventured into Byron at any point on the wedding day. The ceremony and reception were both held for the small wedding at The Summerhouse. We also had a superb new Bentley as a wedding car. Gorgeous, stylish and powerful. I want one. Anyone want to donate one to a poor starving wedding photographer?

I digress.

A few days before the wedding, I was talking with another wedding photographer about how almost every wedding we shot from the late 90s until the early 2000s meant blokes in kilts (even if they had no Scottish heritage). Since then we rarely saw a kilt at a wedding but when worn properly, I like them almost as much as simple black tie formal. So it was great to see Marie’s Scottish father and other family members dressing in their kilts and clan tartan. Shaun’s suit too was sartorial excellence. Fabulous.

See, weddings aren’t all about girls in wonderful bridal gowns. For me, sometimes they can be about fabulous cars with plenty of grunt and men dressing with style.

And onto the wedding photos.
