A couple of additional awards photos. These are urban landscape images.
The one from Melbourne was largely a matter of being in the right place at the right time. A rain storm was coming, I knew where the light was going and ran through the rain to get to where I wanted to be for the shot. It all came together nicely.
The Sydney Opera House photo was the opposite. I knew the shot I wanted, so I flew to Sydney to get it. Turned out the weather was rubbish that day so I cut my losses and went to do other things. Part way through the morning it looked like the weather was going to clear. I got down to the Opera House just as clouds started to break up. I managed to get in about half an hour’s photography before an enormous storm brewed up from nowhere.
