Leica Camera AG is set to introduce the Leica S2 tomorrow at Photokina 2008.
The new German made Leica S2 system is aimed at professional photographers and is expected to take on medium format cameras like the Hasselblad. Built from the ground up, the S2 is not based on either a traditional 35mm or medium format platform but exploits a new 37 megapixel CCD sensor. Being 56% larger than a standard 35m frame, the sensor is designed to meet the most demanding of professional photography applications.
